OnePlus launched the Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro in China on October 29, and the headline number is the battery: 9,000mAh in both phones. That is the kind of capacity that used to belong to rugged bricks, not slim gaming phones, and it tells you exactly who OnePlus is building these phones for. Sales start in China on November 3 through the Oppo online store.

The Pro pairs that battery with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 200 megapixel main camera, and a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom. The standard Ace 7 gets the same battery and the same gaming ambitions at a lower price. Both phones also carry a new tri-cluster chip setup OnePlus teased ahead of launch, aimed squarely at keeping frame rates steady during long gaming sessions.

OnePlus Ace 7 Pro specs that actually matter

Start with the screen and the silicon. The Ace 7 Pro uses a BOE display with a native 165Hz refresh rate, which is faster than the 120Hz panels most flagships still ship. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is Qualcomm's current top chip, and OnePlus pairs it with three extra chips: the Super Display Chip P4, a T3 chip that tracks multi-finger touch sampling up to 520Hz, and a G3 networking chip OnePlus says can cut game stuttering by 46 percent and cellular latency by 17 percent.

Those gaming numbers are OnePlus's own claims, and they should be read that way until independent testing weighs in. But the direction is clear. OnePlus is not trying to win the camera war or the thinness war with the Ace series. It is trying to win the "my phone stays fast and cool for three hours of ranked matches" war, and it is throwing dedicated silicon at the problem instead of just asking the main chip to work harder.

The cooling story is the real pitch

OnePlus also detailed an active cooling system for the Ace 7 series, with two separate airflow channels serving different purposes, a dedicated temperature sensor, and fan-control algorithms that adjust to thermal conditions. The company claims the arrangement can reduce gaming temperatures by up to 10 degrees Celsius while holding frame rates steady.

That 10 degree claim comes without detailed testing conditions or a clear comparison baseline, so treat it as marketing until reviewers run sustained load tests. Still, the fact that OnePlus is putting a fan and airflow engineering into a mainstream phone line is notable. Phone makers spent years pretending passive cooling was enough. The Ace 7 series is an admission that it is not, at least not for the gaming crowd OnePlus courts.

The catch: China only, for now

The Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro are China launches, in Midnight Black, Streamer White, and a Quenched finish. OnePlus has not announced global pricing or dates, and Ace series phones do not always leave China under the same name. Buyers elsewhere may see these phones rebadged, or not at all, which is the usual frustration with OnePlus's China-first gaming lines.

Even so, the Ace 7 Pro matters beyond China because it shows where the hardware race is going. Batteries are getting much bigger, with Xiaomi's Smart Band 11 pushing 21-day claims on the wearable side and phones now crossing 9,000mAh. Dedicated gaming silicon is becoming a real product category rather than a gimmick. And the luxury foldable end of the market, like the gold-trimmed Galaxy W27, shows how far phone makers will go to slice the market into niches. The Ace 7 Pro is the opposite bet: one phone, built for one job, with a battery big enough to actually do it.

If you game on your phone for hours at a time, this is the spec sheet to watch when global versions appear. If you do not, the Ace 7 Pro is still a useful signal: the battery wars are back, and 9,000mAh is the new number to beat.
