Android 17 Update: Which Phones Get It and When
Android 17 is rolling out to Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus, and Nothing phones on different schedules. Here is the state of play as of early November.

The Android 17 Update Is Here, on Someone Else's Schedule
Google released Android 17 on June 16, 2026, starting with Pixel phones. Five months later, the update is still rolling out across the rest of the Android world, one manufacturer at a time. Samsung, OnePlus, Nothing, Motorola, and others each run their own schedule, and some phones will wait until 2027. If you are wondering when your phone gets it, the answer depends entirely on which logo is on the back.
This Android 17 update tracker covers the state of play as of November 4, 2026. Eligibility does not guarantee immediate availability: release dates vary by country, carrier, and device variant, and manufacturers can shift their calendars without warning. Treat the dates below as announced windows, not promises.
Pixel: First, as Always
Pixel owners had the shortest wait. Google's own phones, from the Pixel 6 family through the Pixel 11 family, plus the original Pixel Fold and the Pixel Tablet, were first in line when Android 17 shipped in June. Support varies by model, with older Pixels getting the update but not every feature, which is the usual pattern for a platform release.
If you own a Pixel and have not seen the update, check Settings, then System, then Software updates. Staged rollouts can take weeks to reach every device, and carrier variants sometimes lag behind unlocked models.
Samsung: One UI 9 Reaches More Galaxy Phones
Samsung announced its wider One UI 9 rollout on September 16, starting with the Galaxy S26 series. The update covers the Galaxy S26, S25, S24, and S23 families, selected Z Fold and Z Flip models, and a range of Galaxy A devices. Samsung's Hong Kong schedule, updated October 28, lists November for the A54, A34, A25, A16, and A15.
Those dates apply to Hong Kong, not worldwide availability, and Samsung staggers its releases by region. The practical advice for Galaxy owners is to check Samsung's Members app for your region's schedule rather than trusting a global date you saw online. The rollout is underway, and the flagship S series is ahead of the A series, as usual.
One UI 9 is Samsung's Android 17 skin, and it carries Samsung's own additions on top of Google's platform changes. The Samsung One UI 9 rollout reached the Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 in South Korea earlier, so those owners should already have it or be days away.
OnePlus and Nothing: Ahead of Schedule, Mostly
OnePlus began distributing its stable Android 17-based ColorOS 17 update in India earlier than originally announced. The OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 started receiving updates on October 23, ahead of their original October 29 schedule. The OnePlus 15R, 13, 13s, and 13R followed on October 27, after delays from their original dates. November 2026 is listed for the OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12, Nord 6, Nord CE6, and Pad 3.
Nothing began distributing stable Android 17-based Nothing OS 5 on October 12. Its rollout calendar lists early November for the Phone (4a), (4a) Pro, (3a), and (3a) Pro families, with the Phone (3) and selected (2a) and CMF devices in the mix. The Nothing OS 5 rollout brought Android 17 to the Phone 3a and 4a early, with a new look included.
Both companies are moving faster than their historical pace, which says something about how much of the update work Google now does upstream, and how much the smaller brands have invested in their software teams.
Before You Tap Install
Two pieces of advice before you update. First, back up your phone. Major OS updates are generally safe, but a backup turns a rare disaster into a minor inconvenience. Our guide on backing up before a major OS update takes ten minutes to follow and covers both Android and iPhone.
Second, wait a few days after the update reaches your model, unless you enjoy being a beta tester. The first wave of any rollout is where the odd bugs surface: battery drain, a misbehaving app, a Bluetooth quirk. Let other owners of your exact model find them first, check the forums for your device, then install.
The Xiaomi HyperOS 4 rollout is also underway this month, with its Android 17 base reaching Xiaomi 17 and 15 series phones in early November. If your phone is not listed anywhere yet, check the manufacturer's official update page rather than a rumor roundup. Schedules change, and the official page is the only source that gets corrected when they do.
